Graduation Requirements

Visit My Portal to Apply to Gradute for Fall 2020 between August 6 - September 17, 2020

Degree and Certificate Requirements
AA/AS Degree Requirements
  • Complete a minimum of 60 degree applicable units.
  • Complete the AA/AS Graduation Requirements.
  • Complete required major courses with a C (or P) or better.
  • Earn a 2.0 degree applicable grade point average.
  • Complete at least 12 units at Mission College to establish residency.

AAT/AST Degree Requirements

  • Complete a minimum of 60 transferable units.
  • Complete either the CSU GE-B or IGETC for CSU requirements.
  • Complete required major courses a C (or P) better.
  • Earn a 2.0 transferable grade point average.
  • Complete at least 12 units at Mission College to establish residency.

Certificate Achievement Requirements

  • Complete all required certificate courses with a C (or P) or better.
  • Earn a 2.0 degree applicable grade point average
  • Complete at least 1/3 of courses at Mission College to establish residency.

Meet with a counselor to ensure all requirements have been met.  Schedule an appointmant at counseling.missioncollege.edu.

Visit the My Portal to access the new APPLY TO GRADUATE.

SUBMIT DOCUMENTATION
If applicable, submit the following documentation (with your student ID number on each document) to the Admissions & Records Office by the deadline listed below:

  • Official Transcripts from other colleges*
  • Official AP, CLEP and IB test scores
  • Course substitutions approved by the appropriate academic department
  • Foreign high school transcript or the Language other than English Verification to clear IGETC Area 6

*For students wishing to submit an application after the stated deadline must contact the Vice President of Student Services, Dr. Omar Murillo at omar.murillo@missioncollege.edu

After the Application

Submitted applications can be viewed by selecting View Application to Graduate in My Portal. All applications are in a "pending status" until the end of semester when all grades are posted and the final review is completed.

If applicable, submit the following documentation to the Admissions & Records Office by the deadline listed above:

  • Official Transcripts from other colleges*
  • Official AP, CLEP and IB test scores
  • Course substitutions approved by the appropriate academic department
  • High School transcripts or the Language other than Engish Verification to clear IGETC Area 6

*For in-progress courses, official transcripts must be sent to Admissions & Records immediately after coursework is complete and grades are posted. Applications to Graduate will not be processed if official records are not on file. 

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • Write your student ID numer (G0#) every document submitted
  • MISSING DOCUMENTS WILL DELAY THE EVALUATION PROCESS OR RESULT IN A DENIAL.
  • Late applications will not get reviewed unless approved by the Dr. Omar Murillo, Vice President of Student Services.
Update for Spring 2020 Graduates

AA-T/AS-Ts & CSUGE-B/IGETC Certifications

  • Awards will be posted on the official transcript by July 8, 2020.  
  • If you need your CSU GE-B or IGETC certified and mailed to your transfer institution, you are strongly encouraged to complete the CSUGEB/IGETC Certifications Requests by July 3, 2020, if you havent done so already.
  • NOTE: Due to COVID-ID, both the California State University and the University of California have informed us that students' offers of admission will NOT be rescinded over a missed transcript/certification deadline.  Students will retain their admission status through the first day of the Fall 2020 semester.  Visit the CSU or UC websites for additional information.

AA/AS Degrees & Certificates

  • Awards will posted on the official transcript by the end of August.

Additional Notes:

  • If you need official transcripts sent to your transfer institution, complete the Transcript Request Form
  • All diplomas will be mailed by September.
  • Check your email frequently for possible requests for additional information
