Welcome to Student Health Services
West Valley-Mission College Emergency Information
Student Health 101, an informative and interactive e-magazine for college students about nutrition, fitness, stress management, personal finance management, and more. New articles & excellent student videos (sharing of their health tips) each month! Written by professionals under the auspices of an advisory board.
Mission College Student Health Services is a multi-dimensional program consisting of four components: clinical services, health promotion, health education, and web-based services.
Clinical services are built around a skilled, integrated professional team consisting of a board-certified physician, registered nurses, and personal crisis counselors (ACSW's).
Specific clinical services include confidential health counseling and advisement, medical evaluation and treatment, and screening procedures for conditions such as blood pressure, cholesterol levels, vision, and tuberculosis. All basic services including health educational materials and referrals to community resources, are available to any registered day, evening, and Saturday student.
Health promotion events, such as health fairs, are scheduled each semester. Special topics are featured each semester through in-classroom presentations by guest presenters. Web-based services include "Student Health 101" - an e-health magazine subscription free to anyone who logs in.
All students are covered by an on-campus accident insurance. Students are advised to notify our office within 24 hours of a campus-incurred accident. Voluntary hospitalization and dental/vision insurance plans are also available.
Beyond on-campus services and programs for the college community, the Student Health Services actively supports community-wide service by sponsoring the semi-annual "American Red Cross Blood Drive" and the "Be the Match Marrow Donor Program" each semester.
