Once you are part of EOPS, there are a few requirements you have to complete each semester to remain in good standing with the program. These requirements are designed to help keep you on track and making reasonable progress toward your educational goal.

  • Complete all 3 contacts with your counselor
  • Pass at least 67% of your attempted units
  • Maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA
  • Follow your educational plan
  • Have no more than ONE “No-Show”

Probation: Students who fail to complete 1 or more of the EOPS program requirements, they are placed on EOPS probation. This is a warning for students to be diligent in complying with all EOPS policies the next semester in order to remain in the program.

Dismissal: If probation students are unable to comply with EOPS requirements, they will be dismissed from the program.

Extended Probation: Dismissed students have the opportunity to appeal for extended probation. They can complete a form explaining the extenuating circumstances that led to their dismissal and describe how they will address these issues in the future.

Reinstatement: After a student is dismissed or voluntarily withdraws from the program, they are allowed 1 reinstatement in the future. Since the EOPS program is impacted, it is important to remain in good standing. Once a student leaves the program, it will be difficult for them to get back in.

Exiting the program: Other than dismissal and voluntary withdrawal, students may exit the program due to goal achievement or reaching a high amount of units. We assist students who achieve their academic goal in planning their next steps. Students with 70 or more degree applicable units might be eligible for a waiver if they are in a high-unit major such as Nursing or Engineering.
