Mario  Flores

Program Coordinator, HSI-STEM

Mario Flores, born and raised in Chualar, CA, comes to Mission College after working 2 years in Student Services—College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP)—at CSU, Monterey Bay where he worked directly with first-generation migrant low-income freshmen to provide a smooth and welcoming transition from high school to a 4 year college. Most recently, he worked for Santa Clara University as the Student Employment Program Assistant where he was responsible for assisting in various student employment processes, programs, and implementation of policies to employ a student workforce of approximately 2,000. Mario’s passion is working with first-generation students and helping them develop academically and professionally while simultaneously self-empowering them and providing the necessary resources for success.

Fast Facts

In his free time, Mario enjoys spending quality time with his family and friends. He loves the outdoors, going for walks on the beach, hiking with his wife, and playing sports with his friends. In addition, he is currently finishing up his M.A. program, Educational Leadership, at Santa Clara University (SCU).
